| Dhruva
dasa Dear Srila Prabhupada, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories
to you on the auspicious day of your appearance in this world. It is impossible
for me to appreciate your exalted qualities and to glorify you as it is beyond
my capacity. I am praying that by the mercy of my Guru Maharaja and the panca
tattva that I may find some way to express the little sentiment I feel for you. Actually
you said that if we wanted to know you then we just had to read your books. You
would say when your disciples saw you reading your books that these books were
not your books but they were Krishna's books, because they are spoken by Lord
Krishna Himself. You are Lord Krishna's representative and being so dear to him
He entrusted you with the mission of spreading His glories through His transcendental
literatures. You not only acted as an instrument to transcribe Lord Krishna's
words but you also practised and showed by your own example how one becomes a
perfect human being. You showed us practically how to spread Krsna consciousness
by faithfully following your Guru Maharaja's instructions to print books and preach
in the west not knowing what would be the result. By your actions we saw you start
a world wide revolution and movement simply by adherance to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta's
desire. You taught us that Lord Krishna's books are the basis of the sankirtana
movement of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Books are the basis, utility is the principle,
purity is the force and preaching is the essence. With Srimad-bhagavatam you
travelled to the United States. You sold these books personally shop to shop,
you used whatever laksmi you received to print and to distribute. You chanted
Hare Krsna in Tompkins Square Park, you personally nurtured your budding disciples
and instructed them in the science of Krsna consciousness. You encouraged them
to travel all over the world and preach just in the same way you did. You encouraged
your disciples to distribute Lord Krsna's transcendental message in the form of
His books, prasadam and His Holy name. In one letter to Yogesvara, dated June
12, 1971 you said, "Lord Caitanya, although Krishna Himself, appealed to
His friends and helpers to help Him in His mission and what to speak of me; I
am just an ordinary human being. So I need your help." So Srila Prabhupada
how you are spreading Krsna consciousness even though you have been physically
absent from this world for over 25 years is an open secret and certainly and unending
source of inspiration for all us in the midst of the merry go round of this day
and age. We can simply take shelter of your exalted example and experience bliss
way beyond our material expectations just by following in your divine footsteps.
When I experience the smiling faces and warm relationships from the people who
have read Lord Krsna's books I personally feel all my desires fulfilled. How can
we ever repay you for giving us such an opportunity. You are a maha-bhagavata
devotee, adhering to the instructions of your Guru Maharaja. Today people are
appreciating Lord Caitanya's mercy because of your desire to please your beloved
Guru Maharaja. If we can humbly ask from you any bendiction we would just beg
that you will give us the intelligence and means to simply please you. Please
help us to follow in your footsteps and spread Lord Caitanya's ecstatic mercy
all over this planet in the form of Lord Krsna's transcendental nectar books,
His ever attractive and delicious prasadam and the nectarean chanting of the Hare
Krsna maha mantra. Dear Srila Prabhupada please give us the intelligence to attract
intelligent people to your movement so we can help you. Praying for some sincerity, Your
humble servant, Dhruva dasa
