Tirtharaj
das Dear Srila Prabhupada,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All
Glories to Srila Prabhupada. The meaning of the Vyasa Puja celebration is
something the disciple is dutybound to reflect on, not just on this day but
as a meditation during every moment of ones life. All too often in the
euphoria of recounting our own personal interactions or expressions of what
we feel for the Spiritual Master, I know that I personally fail to acknowledge
that the the disciple is always in the situation of being a debtor. On
this day therefore I want to acknowledge the debt I have, and at the same time
give you my proposed repayment schedule. Everyday I will chant 16 rounds, follow
the 4 regulative principles, and perform tangible and practical devotional
service for the benefit of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Your temples are not just places of worship but also venues where we can come
and clean the floors, cut up vegetables, do deity seva, manage the society,
contribute money, clean the garden, wash the pots, and so many other services.
Bhakti yoga is about doing something practical, and I want to commit myself
to that. Therefore whilst I am making this repayment schedule known, I also
pray that you will give me guidance in establishing Krishna consciousness not
just in my own heart but also in the hearts of others. In this way I hope to
please you and also please those who are your sincere followers. Your
servant, Tirtharaj das
