World Holy Name day and
Vyasa puja Celebration of H.H. Bhakti Caru Swami
Dear devotees,
Please accept my humble obeisances all glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I want to take the opportunity to invite you to join us this coming weekend in a program to celebrate the glories of the holy name known
as "World Holy Name day (WHND)" World Holy Name day is an international event
being celebrated in ISKCON centres around the world. This festival is to be
held annually around the 17th Sep the anniversary of the day Srila
Prabhupada arrived in America and represents an opportunity, each year, to
glorify Srila Prabhupada as the divinely empowered ambassador of the holy
name. It will therefore be a regular part of our festival season in
Brisbane.
As a global event WHND is a very exciting opportunity gathering together
significant international spiritual potency at one time. As water given to
the root of tree nourishes all the leaves and branches, and as food given to
stomach nourishes the entire body, the performance of Harinam kirtan
nourishes the entire creation. The potency of unified massive Sankirtana
yajna around the world therefore proposes to dramatically influence events
locally and on the world scene towards peace and prosperity.
Ultimately we have to depend on the production of the field and
not on the production of big factories. The field production is due to
sufficient rain from the sky and such rains are controlled by demigods like
Indra, sun, moon etc and they are all servants of the Lord. The Lord can be
satisfied by sacrifices; therefore one who cannot perform them will find
himself in scarcity-that is the law of nature. Yajna, specifically
Sankirtana yajna prescribed for this age must therefore be performed to save
us at least from scarcity of food supply.
Bhagavad gita Chapter 3.Verse 14
