New Temple news

In May devotees held a "Victory Dinner" for 380 guests at the Brisbane Town Hall. The guests were donors contributing to the "Hare Krishna Cultural Centre" project. Within a year local devotees, led by Tirtharaj Das, and Radhikatma das (above), have raised enough funds for the purchase of the land and the initial stages of construction.
In July, the cornerstone ceremony was held on the land, with a fire yajna performed by HH Bhakti-vidya Purna Maharaj, from Mayapur in India. In July-August Tirtharaj das travelled to India with the Brisbane Town Planner to look at temple designs. Recently areas of the property were cleared and on August 24th the first large festival will be held at the land in honor of Lord Krsna's Appearance Day.
